Swings & Smiles aim to raise £10,000 in 4 weeks for the Escalator Project
Please note before you read on that we have now reached our £10,000 target for the Escalator Project!
If Swings & Smiles can raise £10,000 between 19th August - 15th September, the Greenham Trust will reward our efforts by donating a further £30,000 to our charity.
This is an incredible opportunity, and we need our supporters to come together to help us achieve our target. If there is anything big or small that you could run with your friends, family or workplace, we will be hugely appreciative and be here if you have any questions.
The money raised will go toward our teenage programme, ensuring they have a meaningful place to socialise and gain independence during these formative years. As part of this we will design and build an accessible outdoor space including a fire pit. Any money raised beyond £10,000 won't be match-funded, but will still go towards our work making a difference in the lives of young people.
Here are a few ideas for fundraisers you could run:

-
Run an Olympics-themed fundraiser
-
Run a pub quiz
-
Take on a sponsored walk or run
-
Put on a lemonade stand in your front garden
-
Bake sale
-
Workplace raffle
If you want to do something but you're not sure what, don't hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to talk it through with you.
How the Escalator Project works
Set up by the Greenham Trust, the Escalator Project is a unique campaign. Participating charities will need to raise £1000 in week 1, £2000 in week 2, £3000 in week 3 and £4000 in week 4 to reach their total of £10,000. Then the Greenham Trust will donate £30,000, meaning we will raise £40,000 altogether.
If you are raising money for us, it is important to communicate with us about how and when you donate, because if we put too much money in week 1 for instance, nothing over £1000 will count toward our target. So there is some thought that needs to go into it, but you can leave that to us!
