The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) takes place each year on 3rd December.Created by the United Nations in 1992, the day aims to promote the rights and well-being of disabled people and to raise awareness of disability inclusion in all areas of political, social, economic, and cultural life.

To mark this important day, we’re inviting everyone to take part in one simple, united act of solidarity — buy and wear a pair of Parallel Lifestyle’s purple socks.

By pulling on your purple socks, you’ll be helping to raise awareness of disability inclusion and supporting the creation of a new Parallel Fund — providing grants and professional support to help kick-start disability-owned businesses and empower disabled entrepreneurs.

All profits from the purple socks will go to Swings & Smiles, a charity that relies on fundraising to stay open. Every penny raised helps support disabled children and their families, both at our centre in Thatcham and out in the community.

Together, let’s take a small step that makes a big difference.
