Ellora - Centre Manager

Ellora, Senior Play Leader at Swings & Smiles Ellora is our Centre Manager.

Ellora started working with families and children with SEN at 17 and at 18 gained her level 3 NVQ in Children's and young people's workforce. 10 years later she still loves meeting and helping new families.

Ellora is currently hard at work undergoing a full-time foundation degree at Reading University in child development and learning to enhance her knowledge on how to support children and families further. Her favourite thing about Swings & Smiles is the families, getting to know not only the child but their whole unit is a real pleasure and there's never a dull day!

Race Night in Bucklebury with Chris Tarrant

Join us for an exciting Race Night hosted by Chris Tarrant on the 17th May at the Cottage Inn, Bucklebury. The evening will include 8 races with 8 runners per race. A basket meal is included and ordered on the night. Join us at 7pm, for the first race to start at 7.30pm.

Sibling support

We understand just how different life is when you have a brother or sister who has a disability or special needs. We run three sessions a month for siblings which are free to attend, as well as offering a 5 week course in schools.

About outreach

Swings & Smiles is able to provide outreach in the community free of charge. We're able to visit schools, groups and individuals with lots of lovely sensory equipment and activities.
Our story

Swings & Smiles is charity for children with special needs and their families, and was set up in 2007 by Sian Cook whose daughter Amy was her inspiration. We provide a play to play and support for the whole family.
Volunteer

We have lots of opportunities for volunteers at Swings & Smiles including supporting at sessions, helping at events or assisting with jobs at the centre. We accommodate corporate groups for CSR days and can take young volunteers completing Duke of Edinburgh awards.
